Klingon Empire

The Klingon Empire is the official state of the Klingon people originally founded by the legendary Klingon Warrior Kahless. Since the events of Star Trek Nemesis the Klingon Empire has expanded its territory, notably its take over of Gorn but also includes various other species such as Nausicaans and the Orion. Letheans offered assistance in the form of mercenary work for the Klingon Empire, and as such as available to them as a playable race in game although they are not a fully admitted member of the Klingon Empire.

Gameplay

In Star Trek Online the Klingon Empire faction are currently mostly a PvP only faction and have very little in the way of PvE content. Cryptic has stated numerous times that if the demand is high enough they may well introduce full PvE content for the Klingon Empire after the game has entered a retail state.

Unlock

Klingons are not playable when players first start the game. They are unlocked once the player has a Federation character that has reached Lieutenant grade 5 rank. When unlocked the player can create a Klingon Empire faction character from the list of characters window when logging into the game.
